COVID-19 (coronavirus) Update

DFI is continually monitoring the rapidly changing situation related to the spread of the coronavirus.  The health and safety of our members, attendees and staff is of utmost importance and is the focus of our decisions in holding our events.

SuperPile’20 is still planned as scheduled for June in St. Louis but we urge you to keep an eye on your email and the conference website, www.dfi.org/SuperPile20, for up-to-date information on the event status.

DFI SuperPile ’20, in partnership with ADSC

The technical committees of DFI and ADSC will combine their industry expertise to organize SuperPile ‘20.

This three-day conference will include presentations on the latest developments in:

  • Driven piles
  • Augered cast-in-place/drilled displacement piles
  • Micropiles
  • Marine foundations
  • Testing and evaluation of foundation systems
  • Seismic and lateral loads
  • Drilled shafts
  • Ground improvement (related to piling)
  • Helical piles and tiebacks

Presentations will showcase advancements, innovations, and challenges in design and construction of deep foundations and design approaches for foundation optimization, innovative approaches to foundation construction, and case histories/topics relevant to the mid-west region. Highlights include invited speakers on the Historic Eads Bridge, DFI's Osterberg Memorial Lecture, and panel discussions on the use of Geotechnical Baseline Reports for foundation projects and comparisons of non-destructive foundations testing methods.

 
On Wednesday, June 3, DFI committees will meet in the afternoon to discuss progress on various committee projects and in the evening from 6:30-8:00 p.m. the Women in Deep Foundations Committee will host a not-to-be-missed networking reception at a local venue. Location and price to be announced soon.
 
On Thursday, June 4, plenary (combined) sessions will present a variety of technical topics featuring invited speakers as well as the annual Osterberg Memorial Lecture.

 

Two parallel sessions on Friday, June 5, will provide attendees the option to choose presentations of interest. Invited and selected presentations will highlight advancements, innovations and challenges in design and construction of deep foundations, particularly related to piling solutions. Equipment, material and instrumentation suppliers, contractors, engineers, and other vendors will present their services in our Exhibit Hall.

SuperPile ’20 will gather design professionals, engineers, contractors, researchers, material and equipment suppliers, and government agencies involved in the design, construction and research of piling solutions for foundations, excavation support and slope stabilization.
