In 2022, MonkeyPox began spreading around the world with significant spread in the US. Prior to this outbreak, the disease was largely unknown by much of the healthcare industry. Also unknown is that MonkeyPox is part of a family of viruses, many of which are also largely unknown (with the exception of chickenpox). This session will look at this entire family of viruses with special emphasis on Monkeypox, the communicability of this virus, it’s symptoms, it’s implication to healthcare and the treatment for this family of viruses.
