This one-hour course introduces the principles of ophthalmic prism and their practical application in spectacle lenses. Participants will review how prisms affect light and image position, calculate induced prism using Prentice's Rule, interpret prescribed prism, understand how prism can be created through lens decentration, verify prism in a lensometer, and troubleshoot common problems associated with unwanted prism.
