This reviews the relevant foundations of perimetry in glaucoma, emphasizing a systematic approach to evaluating the test and recognizing characteristic glaucomatous loss. Participants will compare contemporary test strategies and patterns and will examine the role of central visual field testing in early glaucoma. The course also identifies perimetric approaches that have fallen out of routine use and concludes with a balanced appraisal of headset-based ("virtual reality") perimetry, including its practical advantages and current clinical limitations.
