Name
The Hidden Beliefs Driving Clinical Behavior in Optometry
Description
Clinical practice guidelines provide clear recommendations for the diagnosis and management of many ocular diseases, yet significant variation exists in how those recommendations are implemented. This course examines the role of cognitive bias, professional identity, and behavioral decision-making in comprehensive optometric practice. Through real-world examples and discussion, participants will identify common barriers to evidence-based care, explore how these barriers influence patient management, and develop strategies to improve consistency in chronic disease management and longitudinal care.
