Mr. Nelson joined IRE in 1998 and is currently responsible for sourcing and managing IRE’s special situations projects, including mixed-use developments and medical office building investments. Mr. Nelson was previously a Portfolio Manager, responsible for managing several separate account client portfolios and prior to this, was an acquisition specialist with responsibility for executing IRE's national value-added joint venture investment program.

Prior to joining IRE, Mr. Nelson was a senior acquisitions manager for Archon Group, L.P., a subsidiary of Goldman Sachs & Company, where he was responsible for office acquisitions nationally.

Prior to Archon Group, L.P., Mr. Nelson was an assistant director for Travelers Insurance Company where he was responsible for asset management and dispositions for a nationwide real estate portfolio.

Mr. Nelson received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Southern Methodist University. Mr. Nelson is actively involved in the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP) and the Urban Land Institute (ULI). He has 27 years of commercial real estate experience.
