Description

This in-depth lecture explores the evolving role of 2D and 3D imaging technologies in everyday dental practice. Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of digital 2D radiography, panoramic imaging, and CBCT, including how these modalities differ from conventional imaging and how they can enhance diagnostic accuracy across specialties. Clinical applications will be discussed in the context of endodontics, periodontics, implant dentistry, sleep medicine, TMJ disorders, and restorative planning. The integration of CBCT with CAD/CAM technology for implant planning, surgical guide fabrication, and prosthetic design will be reviewed, along with practical strategies for implementation. The session concludes with a focused discussion on the economics of technology adoption and maximizing return on investment in the general and specialty practice setting.
