Speaker Bio
Greg Meyers is CEO and Co-Founder of ForgeFX Simulations, a software development company based in San Francisco that specializes in the development of custom 3D training simulators. Greg has been overseeing the development of software applications for more than 22 years, working on everything from simulation-based training programs to video games, to internet applications. After graduating from the University at Albany in New York where he studied computer animation, Greg moved to the Silicon Valley in California to work for hero, video game designer Jordan Mechner, and work on Broderbund's, The Last Express. Later at Sega of America, Greg worked on the Football Pro and Virtua Fighter game series.
Serving as Technical Lead, Senior Technical Specialist, and Director of Technology, Greg went on to work for a number of top-notch digital media companies, including Red Sky Interactive, Presage Software, Human Code and Sapient. As CEO and Co-Owner of ForgeFX Simulations, Greg brings 20-plus years of software development experience, creativity and passion to the table, helping the ForgeFX team develop high-quality 3D simulation products for their clients. Currently ForgeFX is experiencing a high demand for virtual reality-based training simulators, which allow for a considerably higher degree of immersion, interactivity and suspension of disbelief. The availability of consumer-based VR headsets has profoundly changed the training simulator environment. When using heavy or complex industrial equipment, there are certain spatial relations challenges that VR allows us to simulate via easily distributable software, in way that was not previously available. Greg and the entire ForgeFX team were quick to adopt VR as one of their training simulator tools, in order to be able to provide their clients with the best possible solution.
