Rick Reyes is a Senior Officer with the Corpus Christi Police Department (CCPD) and serves as the department’s lead Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) pilot. He plays a key role in CCPD’s drone operations, supporting patrol, tactical response, and public safety missions through advanced aerial technology.

Officer Reyes has been instrumental in integrating UAS into daily law enforcement operations, using drones to enhance situational awareness, de-escalate critical incidents, and safely locate suspects and missing persons. Under his leadership, CCPD’s drone program has expanded in capability and effectiveness, including rapid-response deployments and “Drone as a First Responder” operations.

A certified FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot, Reyes oversees training and operational readiness for CCPD drone pilots, ensuring they meet both federal requirements and department standards. His work has helped position CCPD’s UAS program as a vital tool in modern policing, improving officer safety and operational outcomes across the community.
