The offshore energy sector has largely solved the challenge of flying drones offshore; the next challenge is scaling operations. As operators seek to increase inspection frequency, reduce vessel dependency, and enable more autonomous workflows, recovery infrastructure is emerging as a critical enabler of persistent drone operations. This presentation examines the evolution from aircraft-centric missions to infrastructure-enabled drone networks and explores how offshore platforms, vessels, and other assets can function as operational nodes within a broader autonomous ecosystem. Attendees will leave with a framework for understanding where offshore drone operations are headed and the practical steps being taken today to support that future.
