Description

The future of asset inspection is digital. The clipboard, the windshield, and the binder full of photos are giving way to a continuous, structured record that drones, robots, and humans can all contribute to. Manually inspecting distributed assets month after month stopped scaling a long time ago.

Getting there is a journey, and this session is a working tour through what it takes to build the digital inspection stack for industrial assets.

Three main challenges underlie everything else:

● Capture. How do you accurately, efficiently and consistently capture data from
distributed assets? We'll look at how DroneDeploy maps an existing GIS or asset
management database into a repeatable flight plan.
● Storage. How do you hold the media in a structure that mirrors how an asset
management system already thinks about the world? An asset is the same object
whether it was built last year or inspected last week, and the data structure must reflect that.
● Decision. How does AI analyze the visual record and return results that are more useful than yes or no? The same finding can be acceptable in one zone and a shutdown in another. The AI layer has to understand the context.

Along the way we’ll walk through real customer problems we are solving, and share early concepts of where DroneDeploy is heading. This is what the digital future of inspection actually looks like under the hood, and an open invitation to operators who want to help shape it.

Key Takeaways:

● A working framework for thinking about the digital inspection stack, from capture through storage to the AI layer that analyzes the data
● Practical lessons from mapping an existing GIS or asset management hierarchy into a flight-ready capture program
● A clear view of where the asset record is heading, including how 3D context and structured media support AI that’s actually intelligent.
