Description

Digital accessibility is more than a legal requirement; it is a practical commitment to ensuring every student can participate meaningfully in learning. In this session, assistive technology specialists from the Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired and the Indiana School for the Deaf will introduce key ADA and WCAG concepts in plain language, drawing on their experience supporting accessible instruction and communication across diverse educational settings. Participants will explore common barriers found in websites, documents, videos, forms, and instructional platforms, with examples connected to students with visual, hearing, and other access needs. Attendees will leave with practical strategies for creating accessible digital materials and web content that better serve students, families, staff, and other constituents.
