There's nothing new about virtualizing desktops and applications. We've seen it before. What has changed, are the options we have at our disposal. Whether it is in the cloud or on premise, graphics accelerated virtualization gives us tools to run almost any desktop application, anywhere we want to, on any device we want to. We will talk about our experience building an on-prem VDI cluster, built for the needs of our career center. We created a flexible virtual environment to serve students using Autodesk and Adobe products. Student can dock their Chromebooks at school to take advantage of a large screen and peripherals, but can also work from home on any device through a web interface. If you have dedicated labs that aren't being used effeciently, this may make sense for your district.
