Description

HECC introduces a wide range of new tools and strategies for educators. This session focuses on how those tools can be intentionally integrated into meaningful learning design rather than used in isolation.

Drawing from district-level implementation experience, this session explores what happens when learning design, instructional practice, and digital platforms are brought together in real classrooms. Using the Community of Inquiry (CoI) framework, Modern Classroom practices, and Canvas Mastery Paths as reference points, we will look at how these elements can work together to support student engagement, pacing, differentiation, and mastery-based learning.

Along the way, I’ll share lessons learned from both successful implementation and the challenges that surfaced when putting these ideas into practice at scale. Participants will leave with real classroom examples, adaptable course structures, and practical strategies they can use immediately in blended, online, or technology-rich environments.
