Cyber incidents can disrupt far more than classroom technology. Schools today face operational risks that can impact communications, payroll, student services, safety systems, learning continuity, and public trust. This interactive, non-technical workshop uses the Cyber Ready Schools Game, developed in collaboration with the Indiana CTO Council, to help K-12 leaders better understand cyber preparedness and operational resilience in a practical and engaging environment.
Participants work through realistic school-based cyber disruption scenarios while making decisions on preparedness investments, communication, continuity planning, and operational response. Through facilitated gameplay and discussion, attendees explore how cyber incidents affect multiple areas of school operations and how leadership coordination improves resilience and recovery.
The workshop is designed for school administrators, technology leaders, school board members, operations personnel, safety officials, and other educational stakeholders. No cybersecurity background is required. Participants leave with practical preparedness insights and a stronger understanding of how collaborative planning supports safer and more resilient school communities.
