While classrooms evolve to emphasize creativity, critical thinking, brain-based practices, and the thoughtful use of technology and AI, families are often left to make sense of these changes through fragmented conversations, social media narratives, and outdated assumptions about what school “should” look like.

This disconnect can lead to confusion, skepticism, and resistance—even when schools are making meaningful progress.

This session explores how educators and leaders can more effectively communicate the purpose, design, and value of modern learning environments to parents and caregivers. Grounded in neuroscience, classroom practice, and real-world experience, participants will examine why many current models of communication fall short and how to shift from simply informing families to actively engaging them as partners in learning.

Through the lens of our AweFull Learning Process, this session provides practical strategies for building clarity, trust, and shared understanding which help parents see not just what is changing in education, but why it matters for their children’s development and future.

We will share concrete tools for reframing conversations around technology, instruction, and student experience; strategies for addressing misinformation and common concerns; and a framework for creating more transparent, inclusive, and forward-thinking school communities.
