Dedicated leader in Indiana’s K-12 educational technology community, committed to ensuring that all schools—especially rural and small districts—have access to the tools, training, and support they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Through her work with the Northern Indiana Educational Service Center (NIESC), the Northwest Indiana Educational Service Center (NWIESC), and the Indiana CTO Council, she helps educators navigate complex technology decisions, build confidence in leveraging innovation for teaching and learning, and developing educational leadership skills that support student, staff, and district-wide goals.
Before serving 6 years at NIESC, Darlene served a small Northern Indiana school district for 17 years learning to navigate the everchanging landscape of technology integration with a strategic focus on technology alignment for a successful classroom environment.
Outside of work, Darlene and her husband of over 20 years are learning to navigate the new life of an empty nest, less laundry, and a lot of time to find new hobbies!
