Description

This poster provides an overview of the reef, highlighting its strategic location—originally within the influence zone of the proposed Barataria diversion—and its unique construction using plastic mesh bags of oyster shells housed in gabions. It presents five years of biological monitoring data collected since the reef's installation. Additionally, the study offers a comparison between this site and other Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana (CRCL) reefs constructed using volunteer labor and bagged shells without the use of gabions.
