Description

From hand drawn Spanish land grants to digital point clouds, Florida has a long history of coastal mapping. By fostering an innovative environment where stakeholders work together, the Florida Seafloor Mapping Initiative has prioritized distribution of discoverable and accessible seafloor data deliverables for the public.  The Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Office of Resilience and Coastal Protection along with the State Geographic Information Office strive to elevate the quality and use of geospatial sciences and technologies to support the diverse and critical missions of Florida’s state agencies, water management districts, local governments, private business, university systems, and our regional partners across the Gulf. This poster highlights the methods used to provide our end users with the tools and resources they need to leverage this Statewide, actionable, data for decision making to improve Florida and the Gulf Coast's future.
