The National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration’s Data Integration, Visualization, Exploration, and Reporting (DIVER) system was created to support the collection and maintenance of large volumes and myriad types of data during the Deepwater Horizon injury assessment. Following the global settlement, DIVER was identified as the primary repository for restoration project information and monitoring data. DIVER’s new Environmental Data Catalog (EDC) seeks to improve discoverability and usability of these monitoring data for resource management agencies, researchers, and public access. This poster will introduce the EDC to the restoration community and highlight datasets. The discussion will explore lessons learned regarding data collection, management, and storage associated with these restoration monitoring datasets. Dialogue will be encouraged to understand how these data catalog tools can be enhanced to address end-user needs.
