Christopher McQuin is the Hardware Lead and Co-Founder of Under Control Robotics, where he heads the development of rugged robotic systems designed for heavy industry. A graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Chris brings a deep background in aerospace and robotics engineering.

Prior to founding Under Control Robotics, Chris served as an engineer and technical lead at NASA and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), where he operated spacecraft on Mars, deployed robotic systems to the International Space Station, and contributed to the development of advanced rovers and robotic platforms—including Valkyrie, NASA’s first full humanoid robot.
With over a decade of industry leadership since leaving government service, Chris has helped shape cutting-edge systems for both space and Earth applications. His work includes contributions to SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft, and the design and development of sophisticated rovers, manipulators, and robotic tools across a range of extreme environments.
