Katherine Papageorge currently works within Chevron’s Midcontinent Business Unit as an Operations Digital Advisor supporting Operations of the Future strategic objectives prioritizing worker safety, equipment reliability, and carbon reduction. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin (’13) and a Master’s degree in System Design and Management from MIT (’22). Katherine got her first taste of robotics working on ROV tooling design and deployment in offshore operations in the Gulf of Mexico and Brazil beginning in 2013. From there, she founded a small internal UAS pilot team within the Chevron Environmental Management team and attained her own Part 107 credential which she leveraged frequently as a project manager for onshore surface decommissioning scopes. She now manages the internal UAS program for the Midcontinent Business Unit, spanning production operations across Texas and New Mexico, and coordinates over 40 internal pilots and 20 internally owned sUAS
