Marty has been in the business for 45 years and for the past 34 years has been President/Owner of Northlake Auto in Hammond, IN. He started as a yardman in 1983 in Chicago, worked at Northlake for a year before he purchased the yard in 1984. He has made numerous improvements to the property over the years enabling Northlake Auto to become the first auto recycling yard in Indiana to receive from IDEM the Indiana Clean Yard – Gold Level certification in 2008 and continues to the present year. Northlake Auto also has Platinum certification with the Indiana INCARES program since the inception of the program in 2014.

Marty has a hands-on approach in the business and his diverse and exceptional knowledge of purchasing vehicles, inventorying parts and selling parts has made Northlake Auto a leader in the recycling business. He credits his success to his employees, the large selection of quality inventory and the use of checks and balances for quality control which enables Northlake Auto to supply customers with high quality parts. This makes for a satisfied customer and customer satisfaction in the Number 1 priority for Northlake Auto.

Marty was Vice President of the Automotive Recydler4s of Indiana Association 2008-2010 and still serves on the ARI board of directors. Marty and Northlake have received numerous awards and recognition for excellence in the industry and community. Most prestigious of these awards was in 2016 when Northlake Auto was named Car Recycler of the Year by the ARA. This is a great achievement to be recognized by your peers as being the best and Marty was extremely honored and proud of this award.
