Ken Cook has 37 years of management and leadership positions across manufacturing, product development, marketing, sales, and advocacy with Allegion. He has worked closely with school districts for the last 20 years understanding their physical safety and security needs. Cook is a recognized expert in physical school safety having worked closely with the Indiana Department of Education, Indiana Department of Homeland Security, and the American Institute of Architects in Indiana. In addition to leading Allegion’s efforts in assisting school districts, Cook serves on the Advisory Council for the Partner for Safer Schools Alliance (PASS). He also serves on the Security Industry Association (SIA) education school safety workgroup. Cook was awarded DHI’s Award of Merit for his industry advocacy work on school safety in 2021 and speaks regularly at conferences throughout the United States on researched based best practices for access control and school safety.
Cook is an emeritus board member for the ACE Mentor program of Indiana. ACE Mentor program mentors high school students about careers in Architecture, Construction and Engineering providing post-secondary education scholarships for ACE students.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech (86), a master’s degree in business administration from the Massey Graduate School of Business, Belmont University in Nashville, TN, a Crime Prevention Through Environment Design Professional Certification, CPD, from the National Institute of Crime Prevention and a Certificate in Education Finance, CEF, from Georgetown University.
