This course explores a holistic approach to school security design, emphasizing the critical role of doors, entry systems, and fenestration in creating safer learning environments. Attendees will examine the strategic integration of access control solutions and gain insight into proven design principles that enhance both safety and security in educational facilities. The session will also address the industry’s best practices and the application of ballistic- and forced-entry-resistant technologies. Participants will learn to identify relevant testing standards and evaluate available security products to support informed, performance-based design decisions.

At the end of this session, attendees will:

  1. Analyze the role of doors, entryways, and fenestration systems in enhancing physical security and occupant safety within educational facilities.
